MakeMHz Update – April

MakeMHz Update – April

We’re just a few days out from our scheduled ship window, and we want to provide a quick update on where things stand.

Shipping Timeline

Both Project Stellar Plus and Project Stellar Wireless Upgrade Kit are on track, with shipping set to begin on Thursday, April 30th.

We are currently preparing orders ahead of the remaining components arriving later this week, including product boxes and WiFi antennas. Once those arrive, we will begin shipping immediately.

It's always a good sign when a pallet of packaging supplies shows up.😍 Stellar Plus and Wireless Upgrade Kits are shipping soon!

Once shipping begins, orders will ship on a rolling basis. Many will go out quickly, but due to demand it may take up to 3–4 weeks to complete fulfillment of all orders.

We want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming support. This has been our most successful product launch to date, and we truly appreciate it.

Wireless Upgrade Kits - Limited Availability

Due to strong demand, we produced an additional ~100 Wireless Upgrade Kits beyond the initial run. These are now available for purchase.

This is still a single production run, and once these are gone, there are no plans for another run. If you’ve been on the fence, this is the last opportunity.

Current Challenges

As with any new platform launch, there are a few things we want to be upfront about:

  • WiFi Firmware Updates (Temporarily Disabled)
The firmware currently shipping on Stellar Plus has WiFi-based firmware updates disabled due to a bug in the ESP32 networking stack.
We are already working on a fix and expect to restore this functionality shortly after release.
  • 2.0.x Firmware (Beta)
Stellar Plus will ship with the 2.0.x beta firmware. Some features may be temporarily disabled as we continue validating a large set of changes made over the past year.
  • Installation Guide Timing
Some orders may arrive before the installation guide is published. We are working to have it ready as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.

What’s Next

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be rolling out:

  • 1.9.x stable firmware for the original Project Stellar
  • 2.0.x beta firmware updates for both Project Stellar and Stellar Plus

These updates are a major step forward and part of a larger effort to unify and improve the overall platform.

Thank You

We really can’t overstate how much we appreciate the support.

MakeMHz is still a very small operation, and launches like this push things to the limit. We are working as quickly as possible to get everything out while maintaining the quality you expect.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support MakeMHz and Project Stellar.
